Facebook Live Cards

We had a fun time last week on my Facebook Live!  We looked through new products I ordered, Sale-a-bration items, demo on how to work the new cling stamps and of course we made a few cards

The first card we put together was using the new Sale-a-bration stamp set, Home to Roost.  I love this set!!  Using my blends to colour in my rooster and layering some ribbons behind my main element really makes this card pop out!

The second card was made featured the Sale-a-bration stamp set, Hello Cupcake.  Stamping the images onto scrap cardstock and cutting them out really makes the cupcake stand out.

Christmas Tree Joy - GDP Challenge Card 156

I have to admit, its difficult getting in the Christmas spirit when it has been so hot outside lol.  But Christmas is coming and cards need to be sent.  I knew when I saw this week's challenge over on the Global Design Project blog that I wanted to create a classic looking Christmas card.

This week's challenge is a sketch challenge.  Take a look:

I love the look of the embossed white background and then a pop of colour on the main element.  It looks so classic and fresh.

Here's what I came up with:

Once again this was a quick card to put together.  It has a great result and uses limited supplies.

I started with a Whisper White base and a Whisper White layer of cardstock.  I embossed that cardstock with the Woodlands embossing folder.

Next using Shaded Spruce cardstock I die cut the evergreen tree from the into the woods bundle.  I used both the full image die cut and the one where you can pop up the leaves.  I added some campaign shimmer paint to the leaves to make them sparkle.

I bunched up some gold metallic thread and added it behind my tree.  My sentiment is from the Hearts Come Home stamp set.

I love the way it turned out and this would be a great card to mass produce for Christmas time.

Wanted to send a quick shout out to the Global Design Project! I was super honoured to receive a Special Mention in last week's challenge:

I love participating in these challenges each week and always look forward to seeing the next one.  Check them out and play along too!

Thanks for stopping by and have fun stamping!

Back to School Fun - GDP#155

Back to School is always a fun time of year.  I loved it as a child and love it now as a mother.  Back to school has always represented to me starting fresh, new beginnings and the anticipation of what the year can bring.

I loved this week's challenge over at the Global Design Project blog.  This weeks challenge was a theme challenge and you guessed it - this weeks challenge was a School Days theme.  Take a look:

I had a vision in my head right away of what I wanted to do and what stamp sets I planned on using.  I was really pleased with the outcome because it turned out just as I visioned.  Here's waht I came up with:

Nothing screams school to me more than a little red school house.  I love the layers of this card and combination of colours.

I started with a Crumb Cake base (my all time fav colour for my card bases).  I added ink splatters to my card base by using my black and Old Olive Stampin' Write markers.  I do this by flicking my marker tip into the lid facing down towards my card surface.

My main card layer is also Crumb Cake.  I did the faux suede technique on this piece.  I achieved this by separating the cardstock layers which results in me having a rough exposed surface.

I stamped my pens over top with Crumb Cake ink and adhered this to the centre of my card base.

I die cut my Whisper White stitched label and stamped a ground surface with Pear Pizzazz ink and Crumb Cake ink.  I used the Waterfront stamp set.

I die cut my school house from the Hometown Greeting die set.  I adhered my school house to the right side of my label.  I then stamped out my sentiment by using the Labeler Alphabet stamp set.  I stamped my letters on a scrap of paper then cut out my words.  I adhered my words to the left side of my label frame.

I next used a piece of the Share What You Love DSP and flagged the ends.  I tied a piece of black Baker's Twine into a bow around the centre of my flagged DSP.  I adhered this to the centre of my card.

I decided at the last minute to add some vellum foliage.  I used the In The Woods die set and added my leaves to the corner of my main element.  I bunched up some Gold Metallic thread and added it to the top right corner and bottom left corner to sit behind my main element.

Lastly I used my Stampin' Dimentionals to attach my main piece to my card base.

I love how classic and fresh my card turned out and can't wait to give it to my little munchkin starting Grade 1.

All the products used for this card are available in my online store - any questions please do not hesitate to send me a message.

Check out the Global Design Challenge Blog and play along too!

Can't get enough

What can I say? I have fall on the brain.  I am obsessed right now with creating my own pumpkins with the Stitched Shapes dies so when I took a look at this week's challenge over at TGIF Challenge blog I knew I would be participating and I for sure was getting another pumpkin on there somehow lol.

Here's a look at their challenge this week TGIF176 - Colour Challenge:

I love colour challenges and the variety of projects that can be created.  To me its fascinating seeing what everyone comes up with.  Go over to TGIF challenge blog to see what everyone came up with.

Here's my project for this week:

This card was really quick to put together.  I started with a Thick Whisper White card base.  I stamped the small tile stamp in the upper right corner and bottom left corner using my Coastal Cabana ink. I added some spritzing with my Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Write marker.

I stamped my sentiment in the lower left corner using Early Espresso ink.  I also used a piece of Early Espresso cardstock to create a banner behind my main element.  For my main element, I took a piece of Coastal Cabana cardstock and embossed it with the tin tile embossing folder.  Over top I softly sponged some Early Espresso ink over top to give it an aged look.

Next I cut a piece of Early Espresso cardstok with one of the swirly frames to create a wreath base.  I next cut three ovals from Pumpkin Pie cardstock and adhered them together to create my pumpkin.  I adhered my pumpkin to the corner of the wreath and added some small flowers with Coastal Cabana cardstock and Pumpkin Pie.

I of course also added some sparkle spritzing over the card using my Wink of Stella.

Thank you for stopping by - I hope you enjoyed today's card

Have fun stamping!
